Grading, handled

Bring your cards in. We check them, sleeve them the way ACE want them, photograph every one front and back, send them off in one insured parcel and tell you where they are the whole way round — without you having to ask.

What it'll cost

Real numbers, not a "from" price. ACE's fee and ours, shown separately.

Our fee, in full

Published, including the volume breaks. You shouldn't have to ring a shop to find out what ten cards would cost.

Cards in one submissionOur fee, per card
1–4£15.00
5–9£13.00
10–24£11.00
25 or more£9.00

Pre-screening is £1.00 a card: we look at it first and tell you honestly whether it's worth grading. On a card that was never going to come back well, that pound saves you the whole fee.

What you're paying us for

  • Photographs at intake. Every card, front and back, before it goes anywhere. ACE won't assess condition on arrival, so without those photos there's no evidence of what a card looked like when it left your hands. You get to see them too.
  • Prep the way ACE want it. Fresh penny sleeve, semi-rigid, one card per holder, packed in the order on the slip. Get it wrong and they re-house it themselves.
  • One insured parcel. Your cards travel with everyone else's, which is the bit that actually saves money — and it's insured properly rather than relying on Royal Mail's idea of what a pack-pulled card is worth.
  • A date, not a shrug. This is the bit everyone else gets wrong. You'll get a real estimated return date that accounts for bank holidays and ACE's dispatch window, updated as the batch moves.
  • Somebody to chase. If it's late, it's our problem and our phone call.

The bits nobody puts on the page

  • We can't promise a grade. Nobody can. If we could tell a 9 from a 10 by eye we'd be doing something else for a living.
  • ACE's compensation is capped by tier — £500.00 on Basic, more on the faster services. It is not based on what your card is worth. That's their policy, not ours, and it's why we won't put a valuable card on a cheap tier.
  • Some cards come back ungraded. ACE don't grade Yu-Gi-Oh!, jumbo cards or non-standard sizes at all, and an unauthenticated signature comes back raw — sometimes still charged for.
  • A card with no existing ACE label adds up to ten working days while they draw the artwork. We'll tell you if yours is one.
  • In-store drop-off for now. Post is coming, but it needs doing properly — Royal Mail's compensation for a pack-pulled card is based on what the pack cost, not what the card is worth, and we'd rather not find that out on your Charizard.
